Care tips
Fabric
The general rule for fabric/textile furniture is:
- Vacuum your fabric upholstered furniture once a week if possible.
- To prevent general soiling, wipe the upholstery occasionally with a white, warm, damp terry cloth or microfibre cloth on which you have dripped Cleaner 1, without applying too much pressure.
ATTENTION – IMPORTANT
Before starting to remove stains, please check the colour fastness of the fabric in an inconspicuous place. Please follow the instructions of the furniture manufacturer regarding dry or wet cleaning of the fabric. Under no circumstances should you rub stains out, always dab only.
Since the dirt or liquid cannot penetrate the individual fibres thanks to the TOP CARE stain protection with its protected PERLOTEX® active ingredient formula, but is “only” in the net structure of the cover, it is fundamental to always first dab away the excess liquid with household paper or an absorbent cloth. This process must be repeated several times depending on the amount. If there is only a marginal amount left, our TOP CARE care products are used.
Fabric – Cleaner 1
Dampen stain with cleaner 1, leave to act for approx. 10-15 minutes, then carefully blot/press stain out. For stubborn stains, leave on longer. When the stain is removed, rinse with clear (if possible distilled) water, then dab the area dry from the outside inwards or dry with a hairdryer on a lukewarm setting at the most. Then, if necessary, brush the fibres back on with a soft brush.
Fabric – Cleaner 2
Sprinkle Cleaner 2 on the stain, leave to act for a short time, then carefully dab/press the stain out with a lukewarm damp terry cloth. For stubborn stains, leave on longer and repeat the process. When the stain is removed, rinse with clear (if possible distilled) water, then dab the area dry from the outside inwards or dry with a hair dryer on a lukewarm setting at the most. Then, if necessary, brush the fibres back on with a soft brush.
Leather
The general rule for leather furniture is:
- a regular care in case of e.g. drink splashes or food residues, wipe them lightly with a damp, soft cloth (do not use microfibre).
Before starting to remove stains, please check the colour fastness of the leather in an inconspicuous place. Please follow the furniture manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning the leather. Under no circumstances should you rub stains out, always dab only. In addition, use only on smooth leather – DO NOT use on pure aniline (open-pored leather) or buffed leather (nubuck).
Leather – Cleaner 1
For light soiling, e.g. handprints, traces of use, use Cleaner 1.
Spray the area with Cleaner 1, leave to soak in for approx. 2 minutes, then rub off with a soft, smooth cloth. The leather is cleaned and at the same time the stain protection is refreshed.
Leather – Intensive Cleaner 2
For stubborn dirt such as grease stains, abrasion from clothing, apply cleaner 2 to a wet sponge, lather up by pressing movements and clean the leather from seam to seam (full surface) with circular movements.
Wipe off loosened dirt and cleaner 2 with a soft cloth moistened with water until there is no more residue on the leather.
Allow the leather to dry completely. Then treat with cleaner 1 to refresh the stain protection.
